All too true. Syndicate's filesystem API depends on inotify, and so it kind of mostly works OK, if you avoid the edge conditions. Ultimately the kernel should obviously expose Syndicateish dataspace-like state-replication facilities directly :-) twitter.com/andywingo/stat…
