@un_i_ Pharo has drifted away from the Smalltalk-80 spirit, though of course it's still a perfectly sensible system. Squeak will be better for following along with the books. Smalltalk has weaknesses (as well as strengths) in a modern context; see e.g. eighty-twenty.org/2011/05/08/wea…
